Q: What do I get for my money?
A: Whether you order Selectafly’s Original or Pro Range you get unique, quality flies which represent great value for money. These flies are all hand tied using the best quality materials and hooks - tied specifically to our exacting standards - but due to natural variations in the materials used, the flies may vary slightly from the pictures on our website. If you order Fulling Mill, Stroft, or any other brand we stock, you can be assured we only retail brands that we use ourselves – ones that match our high expectations of performance and price.
Security, Ordering and payments
Q: Is my confidential information safe?
A: Absolutely. If you pay via the website your payment details are encrypted by SagePay and not seen by us. If you choose to pay over the telephone your card details are not recorded once the transaction has been successfully completed. Your address and telephone details are for our use only and are not shared with any other company. The same is true for your email address should you subscribe to our newsletters.
Q: Is it safe to order online?
A: Yes, all online payments are handled for us via SagePay in compliance with CPI standards to give you greater surety of your card’s safety. Your personal information is 100% secure, encrypted by 128 bit industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. This occurs whilst it is being transmitted to ensure unauthorised access is denied.
Q: How do I order?
A: You can order 4 ways – online, by telephone, email or post.
To order online fill your basket and checkout.
To order by phone please call us on the ORDER FREEPHONE 0800 917 6539.
To email an order please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org stating what flies, what size and the quantity you want. Please include a contact telephone number so we may call you to confirm receipt of your order and take payment details by phone. (We do not advise including credit card details in an email.)
To place an order by post please call us on 01753 883366 so we may mail you our complete product lists and order forms. Alternatively please state clearly the flies you want, including the range you wish to order from, size, variety (eg weighted nymph or goldhead) and quantity. Please include a telephone number so that we may call you to confirm receipt of your order and clarify any details should that be necessary and post to Selectafly Ltd, 9 Dukes Ride, Gerrards Cross, Bucks, SL9 7LD.
Q: What payment methods can I use?
A: We accept payment from – Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Maestro UK, Maestro International and American Express. Payment can also be made using the PayPal system. All cards must be registered to the billing address used when placing the order.
Q: I want to order an item but the website says it’s out of stock, what can I do?
A: Please call us on 01753 883366. We can advise on delivery schedules or suggest possible alternatives.
Q: What if I order something and it’s not what I want?
A: In the unlikely event that you are not 100% satisfied we offer a no quibble money back guarantee or we will replace your order. Call us immediately on 01753 883366 so that we may resolve the issue for you.
Postage and Delivery
Q: How much will postage be?
A: For all online orders of flies only of £10 or more to UK postcodes postage is FREE. Ever increasing postage and packing costs mean that on orders of less than £10 we now must charge £1.99 postage and packing. For bulky items, products and/or boxed selections, which cannot be sent as a large letter, we will now have to charge the small package mailing cost of £3.99. These items include fly boxes, floatants or other heavy and bulky products.
Overseas orders incur air mail costs which will be calculated according to your shipping address. All current postage charges can be found in the Shipping Section.
Q: When will I get my order?
A: We aim to process any order received before 2pm SAME DAY. Should additional Fulling Mill products be required they are usually received overnight and sent out the following working day. However, please note Fulling Mill do not work over the weekend.
Q: I need my flies urgently, what can I do?
A: We offer a range of postal options including guaranteed next day delivery, or, if abroad, an expedited service. Please call us to discuss the options available and allow us to confirm prices.
Q: Can I have my order sent to a different address?
A: Yes, not a problem. When you order online please complete the shipping address section as well. If you are ordering by any other method please notify us of the address to which you want your order sending .
Q: Can I order Gift Vouchers?
A: Yes. Please call us on 01753 883366 so we may take all the details we require. Vouchers start from £10 and are available thereafter in either £5 or £10 incremental amounts.
Q: Where are your flies tied?
A: The Selectafly Original Range are hand tied in Kenya. The Pro Range are hand tied for us in Sri Lanka. We work closely with both suppliers to ensure high standards are maintained and to show them personally – we have visited both – how to tie the new patterns we introduce.
Q: I want a fly custom tied – can you help?
A: Yes. Selectafly has specialists in the UK who we work with in order to offer you a custom tying service. Call us on 01753 883366 so we can discuss your exact requirements and advise on pricing and timing (usually, although this does depend on time of year, amounts required and the difficulty of each pattern, it may be possible to get your order completed inside three weeks).
Q: Can you explain salmon tube sizes?
A: Tubes are now all measured in millimetres. However if you prefer to think of inches these are the equivalents:
1/4" = 06mm
2/5" = 10mm
1/2" = 13mm
3/4" = 19mm
1" = 25mm
1 3/4" = 32mm
1 1/2" = 38mm
Q: How do you choose the flies for Fly Selections?
A: Our fly selections offer you a discount on buying each fly separately. The individual flies may be subject to change, but will always include the best and most effective range of flies appropriate to their category, providing you a good balance of size and colours.
Q: Some companies offer incentives, do you?
A: We think you’d prefer us to keep postage costs to a minimum and our prices as competitive as possible every time you order, rather than offer extra flies or something you haven’t ordered in the first place!
