Originally developed by Rim Chung in the 1980s, the Rim’s Semblance mkII (RS2) remains one of Gareth’s go-to patterns for small-water conditions. Designed to imitate emerging baetis nymphs caught in or just below the surface film, it’s a subtle yet deadly fly.

Greasing the tails and wing buds helps keep it perfectly positioned in the film, and in smaller sizes it performs brilliantly when trailed behind a more visible dry. It’s saved Gareth more than once — a true get-out-of-jail pattern when fish are locked on to tiny emergers.
