The Drop Back bung system is based around a precise balance between the Indicator and the flies fished under it. Here's how it works:
There are two sizes of indicator - Medium and Large. All the specialist 'Bung Bug' flies have beads with painted dots on them - red dots = 3.0mm, yellow dots = 2.5mm. The Medium indicator requires either 1 red dot fly or 2 yellow dot flies to correctly balance/cock it. The Large indicator needs 2 reds or 3 yellows. To make it easy for you to remember, at the bottom of the indicator these numbers are represented by the number of black spots in each colour band - i.e. the Medium indicator has 1 spot in the red and 2 in the yellow whilst the Large has 2 in the red and 3 in the yellow.
