The requests for this fly were too numerous to ignore - so here it is...
The name comes from the head of dubbed gold Lite Brite. A hugely popular stillwater dry with the pheasant tail fibre legs (unusually - but absolutely in line with the original dressing) tied in 'the wrong way round' to leave a tiny, foot like, stump of quill attached.
If you think it looks a bit scruffy we'll be delighted because that's what its originator intended and because this is one of those flies that just gets better the more 'distressed' it becomes. And we've already had some great feedback - "Just received my Midas. This is without doubt the very best tying I've ever seen and I have a few to compare it with!"
